To celebrate we've been asking our Advisory Board members and Non-Executive Directors this question:
🌱 If Creating Ground could be anything in nature what would it be? 🌱
"A RIVER. A river is not static, it flows, moves, it changes course, transports to safety, provides shelter for some animals, it allows for freedom. Creating Ground supports migrant in all these forms and more."
Huge thanks to the incredibly talented Lucie for this beautiful illustration.

It's been an energising start to the term having Dance sessions withLuca Silvestrini's Protein and their "The Place" students. Such a great opportunity for our group to meet aspiring dancers and work with them towards a performance for Refugee Week. Dancing for our wellbeing, dancing for learning and dancing for conveying important messages.
"Before coming here I was not confident. I was totally dependent on my husband. Everything is new for me and I do not know the culture here and do not understand the language very well. Through this group I met new friends, shared my experience. Everyone in this group is very kind and supportive because they do not judge me for how I speak, they understand my emotions and feelings. Now I feel confident. Now I can go myself without my husband."

💪Understanding Policy Making💪
This month we started our Understanding Policy Making sessions, a history project with the Stronger Together Leaders.
In this project we will be looking at historic migrant rights campaigns in partnership with Lydia Powell and Dr Anna Maguire at UCL History.
🪴Creatively Together 🪴
We had a beautiful start to our Creatively Together project thinking about journeys: the journey of our life, the journey we took to come to the UK from our home countries, the journey we are on every day in London trying to feel settled and happy, the journey we want to embark on and we wish for our future. We shared what it has been and what has helped us. Symbolically here in this collective foot, us taking a step together with lots of different meanings.
What an honour to open the evening ofLondon Citizens Mayoral Assembly on 25th April singing "Notice Us", a song we have co-created with the amazing Tamara Astor and
Rebekka Hölzle as part of our #NoticeUs campaign.
Over 2000 people were in the audience listening to our song calling for change in Temporary Accommodation in London.
Such a powerful moment for everyone in our group. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making it happen and well done to our beautiful singers!
