It's been a minute.

Hellllllllooo. How is it September 2023? Let’s skip over the fact that I have not delivered a newsletter since last May and start fresh.

This past year and 3 months has been a wild ride. Like most of you, I’ve experienced incredible highs and uncomfortable lows. I’ve worked hard, cried harder and learned how to laugh through it all. Throughout the months, the business has ebbed and flowed as one does. Time really flies when you’re owning and operating a small biz.. like really flies lol. Keep reading for an emotional update or scroll down to the bottom if you just want the important reminders.

So, where we been at?

Since it’s been awhile, there are too many updates swimming in my head to get all down in this newsletter, so for now, here’s a quick little update and review of the past couple of seasons:

Last Fall, I celebrated my 33rd birthday and felt grateful to have survived and thrived another year with Order & Scrub. I was feeling exhausted as the days started to get darker sooner. Halloween flew by.

When Winter came, I was beginning to burn out, but I was asked to be in the SD Voyager magazine. They showcase the best of San Diego small businesses (and artists) and I was honored to be a part of it. (Check out my article here). I was feeling overwhelmed but grateful for new and exciting opportunities.🫶🏽

Spring sprung and I needed a new outlook on life, so I went to LA for a creative business trip with two amazing friends, Hollz & Kenz. I posed for some new headshots, laughed my heart out, pretended to be paparazzied and revived my soul. (Check out the blog post next week to see more pics from the trip.) When I got back to San Diego, I started therapy and started learning how to separate business from personal as I was struggling to find balance as a new business owner.

Alas, we are wrapping up Summer 2023. We are here and we are thriving. Summer always gives me a new perspective on life. It’s all the sunshine, cool breezes, and gorgeous sunsets - they remind me that there are things in life that don’t revolve around work, bills, wild news stories, big girl business steps, or any of the hard, scary stuff that can get me bogged down. Having a more clear headspace this summer has allowed me to build deeper connections with my clients, clean harder and better than ever before, and make entrepreneurial moves I never thought I could. The business and I are in a really great place and I’ve never felt more confident in my role as business-owner. Hashtag, queen shit.

It’s weird to be so vulnerable through a newsletter, but a goal of mine this year was to be more transparent and authentic so I’m letting the words flow. Thanks for listening.🤎

While I still have you, I want to point out some important dates, updates, and reminders that are extra important if you are a client of mine:

Updates:

  • From September through the new year, I will be making price and scheduling adjustments where I see fit. If you fall into either of these categories I will text you individually to chat details. Price increases at Order & Scrub are not personal, rather they stem from business growth and demand amongst other things. Anytime Order & scrub has a price increase it is to improve our services to give our clients and their homes the best, most efficient cleans possible. Thank you for your understanding and support.

  • For clients who pay using Venmo: Starting October 1st, we will no longer be using @orderandscrub on Venmo to receive payment. Please send your Venmo payments to @amberdeboy as I will only be using the one Venmo account going forward. I also plan to send reminders through text so we’re on the same page.

Reminders:

  • We are currently running two promos through the end of the year:

  1. Refer a friend and get $15 off your next cleaning service (if they book a service).

  2. Receive a $10 Amazon gift card, $10 Starbucks gift card, or $10 off your next cleaning service if you leave a great and positive 5-star review on Google. Reviews mean the world to us, so please be honest (and kind lol).

Last but not least, thank you. Thank you to anyone reading this who has supported Order & Scrub over these past 3 years. It means the world to me and I wouldn’t have gotten this far without your support, encouragement and trust. It does not go unnoticed & I am forever grateful. Have an amazing weekend🤎

See you next time.
