Meet Rose Mogol, UC Communication Alumna and Art Director for the Walt Disney Company By Alyssa Wallen, FOC Board Vice President |
Rose Mogol, University of Cincinnati (UC) 2003 alumna, knew she wanted to create lasting relationships throughout her student and professional careers, and the Department of Communication was there every step of the way. With the help of Professor-Educator, Lisa Newman, and Associate Professor, MJ Woeste, Rose explored various internship opportunities that led her to the Walt Disney Company in Orlando, Florida, in her sophomore year. That first experience with the company compelled Rose to return for a professional internship post-graduation and eventually establish a professional home that allowed her to grow her career for 19 years and counting! |

If you have been on campus for a football, basketball game or other special events, you might have noticed the brand new in-progress building on Clifton Avenue near Martin Luther King. This new building on the south edge of Braunstein Hall will be the new home of the Communication and Public Relations programs. The 5-story LEED-certified Clifton Court Hall has wrap-around glass for views on and off campus and will be completed this spring. Faculty and units will move in on schedule in May and June after the spring semester is complete. The building will serve as a social sciences and humanities hub. It will house all units in the School of Communication, Film, and Media Studies along with some of the romance and Germanic languages units, plus journalism and a few others. It will also temporarily house some units from Old Chem as that goes offline for an extensive and needed remodel. Communication and Public Relations will be on the 4th floor. Faculty and staff are looking forward to the move and the chance to be together on one floor in a more unified space. |
