So here we are -
Almost the end of the 2021 , which has been a very... interesting year to say the least! (and are very bored of hearing about.)

So much has happened for us in the last month or so , in the space of a few weeks we had our 5th Birthday at Fluidity (mindblowing!) , shortlisted for finals for Cardiff Business Awards “Best Leisure/Hospitality Business of the Year”  , competed in “World Chase Tag” as Fluidity (Airing in December!) and bags n bags more… Relentless is one word for it all, on top of delivering weekly in Primary schools and our usual Academy set up! Phew.

In this newsletter we got some updates on all these bits above as well as our usual important updates for the Academy Including

OUR 5TH BIRTHDAY! 

Thanks for everyone coming on down and having such a mega jam with us all! We had an incredible event, sold out classes and a wicked raffle with prizes from all over, thanks to all the crews that contributed!

Also to top it off, in collab with Frontal Lobe Events , we had the amazing 9 piece Drum and Bass Live act “Dr Meaker” down to top off the celebrations!

Was a very special birthday for us , as last year we had no chance to celebrate so was twice as important this year! Also taking a huge step back and realising that we have somehow not only hit the 5 year mark, but made it through all the lockdowns and covid restraints  - this is definitely a mean feat we have worked hard and/or been lucky enough to achieve!

The Academy was a dream since 2006 and 10 years later we were finally (not for lack of trying) catapulted into the actualisation of the dream , and somehow now 5 whole years have flown past and things are really falling into place!

Thanks to all members, parents, participants , fans and family past, present and new! You have all been apart of our journey and we are incredibly proud of what we are doing and it was beautiful to momentarily take a step back and soak it in - if not for a minute haha! 
 

WORLD CHASE TAG
This sport has been taking the world by storm over the years - the concept of professional tag as a team played event, coined through the parkour world and a whole new radical scene is growing!
Fluidity Freerun represented years back with a team that went down to London in one of the first events , and we were invited to bring a team back for the homecoming event in London!

Alongside 7 other teams, 4 seasoned professional and 4 up and coming groups, we quickly put a team together - with incredibly short notice, some drop outs, injuries and not quite enough time to practice , we were suddenly in London in sheer awe of how the sports talent has grown so quick!

The event , covered by ESPN will be aired on the 5th December, so we cant say or show too much now  - but the competition was fierce and it was incredible to see our relatively new to the scene team go down and give it their all against some of the worlds best! Heres a dynamite photo of our boy Alex Williams going for gold on a chase against the notorious Xavi !

CARDIFF BUSINESS AWARDS
 

In typical fashion , an email went a miss in the ether and we suddenly realised we had an interview for the finals of Cardiff Business Awards - Best Leisure and Hospitality bizz of the year!  Frazer went down to Cardiff Castle too early in the morning to chat to a panel of 7 prestigious judges about the business and what we do at Fluidity! 

Fast forward a few weeks amidst the chaos, we are suddenly down at the black tie event for CBA 2021 in City Hall! We were up against the Hilton and VOCOS St Davids for our category, fierce competition for our small independent freerunning business!

We didn’t win our category, but to our surprise ended up on stage with other businesses for a "Commendable Business of the Year" award!

We have been shortlisted for various awards before, but this was one we were always keen to look into. Cardiff is an incredible city, full of arts, culture and brilliant businesses , to be up there with some of the best and businesses in Cardiff was a huge feat for us! 
Also we love an excuse to dress up to the 9s and eat a fancy dinner! 
 

NEW CLASSES,ELEMENTS AND HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES  
 

NEW ELEMENTS LEVEL 1 AND WAITING LIST MOVEMENTS
We have had a huge waiting list for Level 1 and 2 , even before lockdown.. Now we have settled in we are making changes to our timetable , and altering the way we are doing things. 
We have created an overspill Level 1 class , which is taking place on Thursdays 4:30pm-5:30pm. Priority has been given to waiting list holders, and emails were already sent out.
This will help improve the time we can move participants through the waiting lists for Level 1. 
The new Level 1 started Thurs 18th Nov and at this moment still has space! 

We will be looking to move participants from Level 2 into our Level 3/4 (which now is a joint session on the Thursday 5:30pm - 6:30pm) 


HOME EDUCATION CLASS 
Our Home Educators class is now bookable online , which is be a tutored class on Fridays, running from 2pm - 3pm for £9 per child. We will be running this up till the 17th December, then restarting in January.

PARTIES
We are also reinventing the wheel with how and when we do parties. We have too many enquiries and not enough slots, so are figuring additional days/times we can run parties. This will change the options available, pricings and packages. Please bare with us! 

ADULT PARKOUR LEARNERS COURSE
11th January is our new start date for the next installment of our 8 week Parkour Beginners Course for Adults . From 7pm-8:30pm weekly at the cost of £80 in total for the course! 
Our Adult Course will also be increasing to £10 for the 1.5 hour session, with some new membership options coming for frequent flyers!

HOLIDAYS , EVENTS AND CLOSURES 
As the year comes to an end, we have a whole host of final activities to get involved with before festivities start! On top of our normal classes, open sessions and courses we also have;

As we mentioned previously, we are following last years footsteps to allow some breathing space during the holiday period, especially in light of recent ambigious announcements.

Thanks for being a part of the Fluidity family , whether you are new or seasoned! Its been a relentless half a decade, and this year has been intense above all others for us all! 

We really look forward to finishing off this year with you all , and welcoming you back in 2022.  Theres a lot of reflection to be had as we push forwards with a fresh start once more and help push our Academy , Team and services we offer to the next level!
