April Newsletter 2021

These blessed fur babies have recently found their forever homes this Spring!

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT!

It takes a village here at APW GSP Rescue and we are so grateful to all of our volunteers! So much so, that we have decided to introduce you to our team! This month, we are excited to give a shout out to one of our amazing foster families...  Rachel McKenzie!

"I was first introduced to GSPs back in early 2018 when I bought my first GSP puppy (Huckleberry aka Huck). At the time I was in college and still living in the dorms, so I had to sneak my little buddy in and out of the dorms during finals week. To say it was worth it is a complete understatement! He has been perfect from day one and I could not be more thankful for him. Fast forward two years and I have absolutely fallen in love with the breed... their loyalty, kind and happy nature, playfulness, and affectionate personality make for the most loving dogs. Back in August of 2020 I was looking to get involved with a non-profit as I have always been involved with some type of nonprofit organization. After a few searches I stumbled across APWGSPR and saw that they needed volunteers. I put my application in right away and I have been volunteering ever since as an intake assistant handling digital documentation. The whole team at APWGSPR is incredible, and I am so grateful that I get to work alongside of these terrific individuals. Having the opportunity to watch so many dogs go to their forever homes with families that are beyond excited to welcome and love them unconditionally is so fulfilling. When it is time to add one more dog to my family I know where I will be searching first!"

Pepper - Colorado

Pepper is a Pointer mix who is turning 7 in July!

7 is considered a "senior" but don't be fooled, this girl has spunk and is ready to go if you are! She loves her stuffy toys, squeaky toys and balls. She loves to roll around on the floor playing with her toys. She loves the snow! She hops like a bunny through the snow having the best time! She has adjusted to her foster family's routine pretty easily. She is house and crate trained, she is left to free roam in the house and is not destructive. She knows basic commands and responds when called.

Pepper has a short little tail so when she is happy her whole butt wiggles which is where she gets here nick name WIGGLE BUTT!

Shop

Do you shop at King Soopers or City Market? Do you have a King Soopers or City Market club card? Did you know that King Soopers/City Market has a Community Rewards program that gives back to local non-profit organizations, like All Points West GSP Rescue? We were pretty excited to learn about this program, here's how it works!

On your computer go to Kingsoopers.com or Citymarket.com, depending on where you shop. (You CAN'T use your King Soopers/City Market app to sign up, it must be done on their website)

1. Sign up for a club card if you don't already have one

2. Create an online account or sign in if you already have one

3. Go to "My account", which can be found in the upper right hand corner, on a drop down

menu under your name

4. Go to "Community Rewards" which can be found on the left hand side of your screen

5. Search for All Points West GSP Rescue or WB525 (our non-profit assigned number)

6. Enroll

7. You're done!

Now if you're like me, you've had your club card a very long time, so you may have either never created an account online before, therefore you just need to create one, or you did create an account and you don't know your password. You just need to know the email address you used when you created your online account (hopefully it's still a good email), tell it you forgot your password and go from there! It took me 10 minutes and was pretty simple! Donations are given annually and the donations given by King Soopers/City Market is based on a % of what you spend annually when you shop at King Soopers/City Market! If you choose to participate and select us as your non-profit of choice, we thank you!.

Please remember Amazon will donate .5% of what you buy to our furry friends in need!  Please use this link... every little bit helps!

AmazonSmile: You shop. Amazon gives.
