FACES of PCA (by David Smith) |
|
|
In each issue of Season 3, we feature one of the “FACES of PCA” video interviews by David Smith. David is a videographer, journalist, and sport psychologist who splits his time between marketing projects for PCA, writing for @CompeteMagazine, in-person and virtual clinical work with athletes, promoting his @StonewallPerformance pursuits and the mantra of #FitWIthPride, and preparing to defend his PhD dissertation! Click to watch the FACES playlist! May’s “FACES” Feature: Sarah Chau Sarah Chau (she/her) is a rising star from CHEER San Francisco. She joined the team in 2021 and has volunCHEERed with PCA at Sin City Classic 2022, Sin City Classic 2023, Gay Games 2023, and Sin City Classic 2024. In her FACES of PCA video, she opens up about how she used to say that she “likes cheerleadING, but not cheerleadERS.” But, she never lost her passion. She didn’t let the stereotypical people around her change her - she changed them! As a coach back at her own high school program, she shaped them into better athletes and advocates, and built new traditions and values in her local communities. She was relieved to find those values mirrored in CHEER SF and PCA, and has found belonging here VERY quickly and deeply. Sarah Chau is dedicated… and decorated! She is the newly appointed PCA Delegate representing CHEER San Francisco’s stunt team! And she is a multi-medalist, holding bronze medals in Group Stunt (GGGDL2023) and Partner Stunt (SCC2024). |
