I’m infatuated with sunsets. Something that typically signifies an end.
Sunrises signify the start of the day, the start of something new. When the sun rises we look forward. We look at all the possibilities to come and the adventures to be had. The story of the day isn’t written and the exciting part is we get to write it. We have the power to make something of the day ahead.
But sunsets - they conclude the day. It is the way the world says, the story of today is over. This is a moment that provides us time to reflect and think about all the events of the day, the week, even the year. We reflect on all we have done to arrive at this juncture. Reflection, much like how the buildings and lights reflect off the water at night, we can find a different kind of beauty. Reflection provides us with ways of looking at the world differently. We learn from reflection so when the sunrises the next day we are ready for adventure. Because with every sunset means a sun will rise soon.
It’s okay for the sun to set on moments in life because that ending is simply just a new beginning but, don’t forget to rest for a second because there is a lot of beauty in resting.
Sunsets - there is something deeply captivating about them. It’s the feeling of endings and beginnings existing simultaneously.
