Hello, I hope everyone had a safe and restful holiday season!

In keeping with tradition, we will NOT have a Membership Meeting in January. As of now, if we are safely able to do so, our goal is to meet in person at Calvary Church on February 2, 2022. We want this to feel like a kick-off and open house to a brand new year of CCCHS. We would encourage you to bring someone who hasn’t attended meetings or is new to human services to learn about what we do. We will remain masked and add extra seats for social distancing.

Part of our February meeting will focus on one of our member benefits – writing Helping Hands articles for the Centre Daily Times. Sometimes we are unsure what to write or how to write an article to capture the attention of our readers. We’ll have the CDT with us to explain how to write for appeal and properly format for a newspaper style.

We have an exciting year of CCCHS ahead of us and we are so thankful to you – our members! Remember the 2022 membership forms and dues can be paid now. The early bird discount will run until the end of February.

Have a happy New Year!

Location: Zoom

Fundraising provides the lifeblood of Nonprofit Organizations! While there are many resources and learning tools available to organizations with dedicated development departments and budgets, for the small Nonprofit with limited resources it is often hard to decide where to begin. This workshop is designed to help you create a strategy that meets your fundraising goals while keeping your limited budget and personnel in mind.

Fundraising for Small Nonprofits covers essential skills and techniques, such as:

  • Getting better at explaining your Mission

  • Being able to articulate your "Case For Support"

  • Building more and deeper relationships

  • Identification and Cultivation of Prospects

  • Techniques to increase the number and size of donations

  • How to Ask, Thank, and Appreciate

The workshop covers long used and tested techniques as well as the latest trends in Social Media and Special Event fundraising, especially for small to medium sized Nonprofits.

Please note that, even though our presenters are Volunteers, a $10 Fee is charged to offset the administrative costs of this Seminar.

Update on Service Restoration

Press Release: December 17th, 2021

Despite months of recruitment efforts and recent public input meetings, the Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) is announcing that services will remain at current full and reduced service levels come January 10 and for the foreseeable future as existing staffing does not allow for service restoration.

CATA thanks those riders and members of the public who attended its recent community input meeting held on Tuesday, December 7, and otherwise shared input on how service changes made in recent months have affected them personally. The insights gained from this feedback provide CATA’s service planning team with direction in the development of a plan for restoration moving forward as resources allow.

The key for the restoration of service continues to be the ability for CATA to provide and restore service that is, and will remain, reliable for its riders. As service is restored it may return in phases and may be altered or changed to more closely meet community needs.

CATA continues to recruit for many positions including that of bus operator and will further communicate with the public as additional information on service restoration becomes available.

For information on service routes and schedules, please visit www.catabus.com or contact CATA’s Customer Service Center at (814) 238-CATA(2282).

For information on CATA’s bus operator positions and other open positions within the organization, and to apply, please visit catabus.com/careers.
