Sun., Apr.10 - Meat Raffle at Goldy Chicken Shack, starts at 2 pm TODAY!

Mon., Apr 11 - General Meeting at House of Omelets with doors opening at 5pm and meeting starting at 6:30 pm.  The Beacon of Hope will be presented with a check from the Island Luau.  Don't forget to bring your Food Pantry donations.

Sat., Apr 23 - Islandfest Rescheduled with Mullet Toss and Kiwanis Fish Drop.  The Chamber is looking for volunteer help.  See flyer below and contact the Chamber directly if you can help.

Sat., May 7 - Blood Drive, co-hosted by Olde Fish House from 10 am - 3 pm.   Reservation needed.

Sat., May 14 - Stamp Out Hunger USPS Food Drive - to benefit the Pine Island Food Pantry.  Volunteer help is needed to adopt streets for pick up and for sorting on the day of the event at OLMM.  

4th of July Parade - the Matlacha Hookers will have a float.

Month of July - PIE School Supply Drive and FISH Clothing for Kids drive/adoption.

Sat., Jul 16 - Mini MangoMania at Fishers of Men Lutheran Church.  Save the Date!

What a refreshing time of year. We all have a chance to catch our breath and enjoy all of the renewal that Spring offers.

Many of our Sister Hookers are heading north and we wish you safe travels.  You will be missed and we all look forward to seeing you in the fall.  But, those of us that are still working or live here year around, we sort of look forward to this time of year.  It's time for the locals to come out and play!

Island Luau Update

All Volunteers - Please come to the April General Meeting on Monday to be in the “Picture” as WE give the Beacon of Hope their check for their Senior Programs.  A special Herald will then follow later this month featuring photographs, results and a thank you ad for sponsors and volunteers.

Matlacha Hookers - have we got a deal for you!

On Monday, at our APRIL GENERAL MEETING members will have an opportunity to purchase the remaining ‘Chic Boutique’ 14K gold jewelry at just over scrap price!

From our generous donors, we have been gifted with several gorgeous 14K gold and sterling silver jewelry pieces. Gold is priced at the current gold price per gram (about $36/ gram) times the weight per piece to equal what is called “scrap” price.  Jewelers usually mark up scrap 2-3 x.   

Priced to sell, the photos reflect the new prices. Sterling Silver and an assortment of watches will also be available. Watches are discounted and all have new batteries.

It’s time once again to cast your ballots for the Best of Pine Island and the Matlacha Hookers need your vote in the subcategory of "Best Service Organization/Club” of Pine Island 2022!   This subcategory can be found at the bottom of the Professional Services category.

Paper ballots will be included in the March 30 and April 6 issues of the Pine Island Eagle.  Completed ballot, limited to one per person, can be dropped off or mailed to, the Eagle office at 10700 Stringfellow Rd, Suite 60, Bokeelia, FL 33922.

Secret Sisterhood Hooked on Education Fund

We are asking all Matlacha Hookers to join us by to help our students succeed.

Pine Island Food Pantry

THANK YOU!   The Shred Event on April 2nd was a huge success.  In 2 hours the Food Pantry raised $941.00 and 668.4 lbs. of food while helping our fellow islanders dispose of their sensitive documents safely to keep their identity safe.  A few Hookers dropped by to take advantage of this great opportunity some stayed to help out.  Thank you!  The pantry is very grateful to the Greater Pine Island Elks for sponsoring this event, by covering the cost of the truck and allowing the pantry to use their parking lot, tent, table and chairs. Several donors said they were very thankful we held this event and hoped it would continue annually, which is the plan.

Next Up - USPS Stomp Out Hunger Drive, May 14 – which is back after a 2 year hiatus. In past years, this has been a big Hooker volunteer opportunity, sorting on the day of the event, so the Food Pantry is hoping they can count on your support again.   More information will be available at the General Meeting when we will be asking for volunteers to again help collect and sort donations.

The Food Pantry Everyday Pantry Needs include peanut butter, saltines, ramen noodle multi packs, small bags, pouches or boxes of potatoes, white rice or noodles (any kind, except not spaghetti), canned beef, Vienna sausage, strawberry jelly, hamburger helper, small multi snack packs of cookies, granola bars, crackers or chips and personal care products, such as, toothpaste and toothbrushes, laundry detergent, shampoo, deodorant, razors, dish soap, feminine hygiene products, size 6 diapers or pull ups and small/medium size adult diapers.

Nonperishable donations can also be dropped off at the following locations: Winn-Dixie, V.F.W., American Legion, Moose, Elks, Centennial Bank, the Matlacha Post Office or at the pantry when it is open on Monday and Thursdays, 8:30 am - 10:30 am.
