My Writer's Journey

Have you heard? I am now a member of Word Weavers Page 53! What is that? It is a critique group where writers and authors share sections of our works in progress to critique and refine. We meet once a month through a Zoom call. I have already learned so much from the seasoned authors in my group. If you are a writer, I highly recommend Word Weavers if you want to learn and improve your craft.

At the end of May and beginning of June, I attended the Blue Ridge Mountains Writers Conference for the third time. As always, it is an awesome experience. My three meetings went well. Two of the three were with Literary Agents and they both requested a proposal, which I am busy preparing now. The third meeting was with Eva Marie Everson, CEO of Word Weavers/Author. Besides the encouraging meetings, I was able to enjoy spending time with my old writer friends and making new connections as well.

This August I attended the ACFW (American Christian Writers Conference) in St. Louis, MO for my 5th year. I made some great connections and met some fabulous authors, many of whom won the Genesis and Carol Awards. Also, a third Literary Agent requested my proposal. A fiction proposal is like a resume on steroids. It is an in-depth document and takes many hours/days/weeks of research and work to accomplish. Please pray that I will create a winning proposal and that at least one of these three agents will represent me to Tyndale House and other publishing houses that will not receive proposals without a Literary Agent.

My Blog is going strong. Once a month I post a new blog. Since 2018 I've shared my writer's journey through updates, stories, poetry, research from my Hope for Charity novel, and more. If you enjoy a post, or newsletter, or email, I'd love to hear from you. Also, every time you click a link on my site, it helps other people find me. And if you share, comment, and/or like a post, it improves my online presence and helps my readership grow. What is an author without readers? For my faithful readers, I am truly thankful.

I am so grateful you joined me today. Though this "Writer's Journey" has been longer and harder than I ever expected, your support and encouragement have been a true blessing. Through every step, the Lord Jesus has guided me and taught me. Though I am not yet published, this experience and the people I have met along the way have made all the hard work and effort worth it. God is Good! I look forward to what He still has in store for me.

God Bless,

Sandy
