2023 CEDS Update + Spotlight Interviews

The 2023 REDC CEDS update is now live on our website! If you're not familiar, the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) is a plan that outlines a region's economic development needs and goals. It emerges from a continuous planning process developed with a broad based and diverse community participation that addresses the economic potential of an area.

New this year, we have included in the 2023 CEDS several interviews with key individuals who impact and are impacted by the issues that drive our region’s economy. Parts of the interviews are included in the CEDS update, with the full text posted on our blog. We are also creating short videos of these interviews for our YouTube channel, some of which are out now, and some will be available to view later this summer.

We would like the thank the following individuals who sat down with us for interviews:

Anne Banks, ApprenticeshipNH Program Manager, Community College System of NH

Melanie Casablanca, Owner, Bright Village Early Education

Eric Chinburg, Owner and Operator, Chinburg Properties

Ashley Haseltine, Former Executive Director, Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce

Scott Maslansky, Director of Clean Energy Finance, Community Development Finance Authority

Jon Morgan, Chairman, Economic Development Committee,
Town of Brentwood

John Tabor, Portsmouth City Councilor, Chairman of Portsmouth Community Power

Darren Winham, Economic Development Director,

REDC Attends the Start-up and Grow Funding Expo in Nashua

As exhibitors, REDC Business Advisors Liz Salas and Diane Lewis recently attended the SBA Start-up and Grow Funding Expo held in Nashua, NH. They had many conversations with small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. They also had the opportunity to meet new lenders and connect with representatives from SBA, SCORE, and SBDC and are excited to build new relationships and further collaborate with partners to help small businesses start and grow in New Hampshire.

Along with Cambridge Trust and Triangle Credit Union, Diane participated in a lenders' panel to provide tips to entrepreneurs on how to best prepare for conversations with potential lenders.

A special thank you to Lauren Lefebvre and Brandon Rainer, owners of The Potato Concept, for providing a delicious complimentary lunch to attendees. It is always exciting to see our clients doing the work they are passionate about!
