Simon O'Neill is regarded as the world’s leading Wagnerian tenor. A “larger than life” performer who is booked years in advance by the world’s leading opera houses, this year his work with the Los Angeles Philharmonic won the $85 billion recording industry’s most coveted honour – a Grammy Award. Talented Dunedin soprano Olivia Pike will be also accompanying him in this performance.

Tokowhā - 26 November

Tokowhā features L J Crichton (tenor), Matt Barris (baritone/tenor), Tomairangi Henare (baritone) and Morgan King (bass) with Alex Jefferies (piano accompanist) and together they perform songs by Māori, Pasifika, European and American composers.

 

The quartet is most known for their fun loving approach to delivering opera to the non-opera listener and for the casual and welcoming nature of their performances. Ticketing information coming soon!

Bloom @ Thomas Brown Gallery - 10 November

Coming to Arrowtown on Thursday 10th November - the concert tour BLOOM is led by Rakuto Kurano, the Trust’s 22-year-old Tour Director. Kurano has established himself as a multi award-winning violinist/composer in New Zealand and has extensive touring experience, having performed in over 40 concerts this year alone. This is his fourth national concert tour this year.
 

The Magic Carpet Music Trust was formed earlier this year by Kurano & Lyn Milne to provide more concert tour opportunities to young musicians and provide smaller communities in Aotearoa with more classical music.
