What an amazing first year! We appreciate the support and generosity from donors, sponsors, supporters, volunteers, and PINK "ME"® Board Members. Despite the challenges of navigating through the pandemic and our very own, Founder and President, Dr. Bean breast cancer recurrence, the mission and vision was sought forth, stronger than ever. As shared in this month's newsletter, the perfect song captured by Herbie Hancock featuring artists- PINK and John Legend, "Don't Give Up". We look forward to working with you in 2022. Helping one family at a time! PINK "ME" Board Members (First Row: Dr. Michelle Bean, Christiann Orozco, Sherrie Webb; Second Row: Dr. Ann Botros, Melinda Bean, and Dr. Jay Harness, MD)- Thank you for the amazing work that you do in the community. Board Members put in collectively over 200 volunteer hours, committee work, community involvement, community outreach, community events, and board meetings. Congratulations on One Year of Service. |

2021 Financial Assistance Program Outcome and Results This year we have assisted 11 women and their families in the Breast Cancer Treatment Financial Assistance Programs in the amount of $12,155.65. Our initial goal was to assist nine women- we exceeded our goal! Financial assistance payments- the highest percentage (42%) towards rent and mortgage payments, (41.37%) towards medical bills, and (8%) towards utilities. Additional resource options were provided for women as part of our breast cancer awareness and prevention initiative- Mammograms Matter New Mexico. In Partnership with Assured Imaging the mobile mammography unit provided screenings in the community during the months of March, June, and October. The Mammograms Matter New Mexico initiative was developed based on statistical data gathered from women in PINK "ME"'s financial assistance programs, which reflected advanced staged breast cancer diagnosis. Therefore, providing the additional resource options within our scope of services to heightened breast cancer awareness were vital. Breast Cancer Treatment Financial Assistance Program This program provides resources and financial support to those that are going through their breast cancer journey; and to help women understand their health information/medical records accessibility for their health and treatment outcomes. This amount is allocated over a period of three months, or one quarter. Application to apply to this program is available on our website. Survivor Health and Wellness Financial Assistance Program This program provides resources and financial support to those that are survivors of their breast cancer journey, post one year.
