Thanks to everyone who has signed up so far! Please note the venue has changed to the Tramshed, and we are very excited to share this performance with you! Count Yourself Lucky is a performance that came out of a project funded by NHS SEL ICS in which members of Creating Ground used creative approaches to share experiences in accessing maternity services. Guided by theatre-makers, Rachel Griffiths and Erene Kaptani, and thanks to funding from Weaving Bonds Grant, the group have been devising scenes based on lived experiences, through a truly collaborative process to highlight the issues migrant women face. Part of the performance will also be an extract from a spacial dance we devised with Luca Silvestrini's Protein dance group. If you haven't already, then please reserve a free ticket and join us to celebrate International Women's Day in a very special way. ⏰ 6:00pm - 7:30pm 📍 Tramshed, 51-53 Woolwich New Road, London SE18 6ES 🎟️ Tickets are free, but you need to reserve here: countyourselflucky.eventbrite.co.uk |

🌺 Regenerating Odyssey Workshop 🌺 |
We had a wonderful session as part of our Creativity for Wellbeing project with Dr Irene Salvo and Joumana Mourad taking us on a journey in a Regenerating Odyssey Workshop which combines mindfulness techniques, ancient Greek poetry, and movement. |

Please check out the incredible work of IJAD Dance Company. Thanks to Greenwich Mental Health Hub for supporting this project, and of course to all the women who make it so meaningful. Here is one of the participant's poems from the session: "My Body Magnificent, vibrant Filled with so many drives Different sensations When to eat, sleep, laugh. Pain, always so much pain Robbed, not at gun point or by robbers Robbed by hurtful words Said by loved ones, teachers, friends, relatives My body Gone through so much But still strong My body" (Project participant, February 2024) |

💪 Stronger Together Forums 💪 |
Thanks to Disrupt for awarding us the funding to run creative forums to engage policy makers, decision makers and key stakeholders to look at the issues affecting migrant women and migrant communities in general from different perspectives/angles and find together possible solutions and ways to collaborate. |
At these forums, we will present our creative outputs from our different projects, and run participatory creative activities to create a sense of togetherness, openness and solidarity. We will focus on a different theme each forum, looking at it from different perspectives to create understanding, awareness and most importantly dialogue. This forum is an opportunity to do more listening with migrant communities, make sure our members are seen as active agents of change having an equal power and say, and reach more decision makers to create real long-lasting change. Our first forum will be announced on our social media soon. |
We are once again collaborating with the wonderful Luca Silvestrini's Protein dance group to run a term of dance sessions that will end with a performance at Woolwich Works as part of a wider celebration of Refugee Week. The dance sessions will be focused on this year's theme for Refugee Week, Our Home. |
