Tyner High School Clinches Victory In Inaugural Scenic City Football Championship |

We are thrilled to share that Tyner High School has emerged victorious in our inaugural Scenic City Football Championship. Following a highly competitive season, Tyner High School achieved the best overall record, surpassing rivals The Howard School and Brainerd High School. In recognition of their exceptional achievement and academic dedication, the winning team has received a well-deserved trophy, generously sponsored by the Kappa Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and The Bridge Builder Collective. To mark the conclusion of their triumphant campaign, a celebratory pizza luncheon took place at Goodfella's Pizzeria. Following the feast, the students enjoyed engaging in various arcade games. A special thank you is extended to the event sponsors: the City of Chattanooga's Mayor's Office, and our organization sponsors, IAFF Local 820 and The Frost Family Foundation, for their generous support and collaboration in bringing this championship to fruition. Their collective commitment significantly contributed to the success of this event, and we express our gratitude for their dedication to our community. Igniting Futures: The Omega Lamp Lighters Mentoring Program Sparks New Beginnings |

The Bridge Builder Collection is excited to unveil the Omega Lamp Lighters Mentoring Program, an impactful initiative tailored to empower young men in the Hamilton County area. We're delighted to share news of our collaboration with the Kappa Iota Chapter, an unincorporated entity of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., which adds an extra layer of strength to the program's influence. Although the program welcomes all eligible young men in the county, preference will be granted to individuals attending Brainerd, Howard, or Tyner High School. The program will run from January 2024 to July 2024, featuring both monthly virtual Zoom sessions along with in-person gatherings at The Bethlehem Center, primarily on Saturdays. The program covers a range of topics including: Academic Success Career Planning Personal Growth Health & Wellness Social Skills Financial Literacy Leadership Development Cultural Awareness S.T.E.A.M.
Each session will focus on one of these critical areas, ensuring a holistic mentorship experience. The application period has concluded, and we are excited to reveal that the 2024 cohort of the mentoring program has been chosen, comprising 12 mentees from a diverse range of 8 schools in the Hamilton County area. All selected mentees will engage in a spectrum of activities and will be provided with complimentary branded apparel. Be sure to stay tuned for further updates as we kick off our inaugural session in January. |
