A Farewell Message from Msgr. Smith

I have no words left! So let me borrow a few from St. Paul, who was no stranger to painful farewells:

I thank my God whenever I think of you; and every time I pray for all of you, I pray with joy, remembering how you have helped to spread the Good News from the day you first heard it right up to the present. I am quite certain that the One who began this good work in you will see that it is finished when the Day of Christ Jesus comes. (1 Philippians 3-6)

God bless each of you and all those you love!

Water in the Desert

Our upcoming Water in the Desert on Tuesday, July 11 at 7:00 pm is also Msgr. Smith's last Water in the Desert! As you know, this is Msgr's favourite parish event each month. He would love for every parishioner to experience the beauty of this time of adoration, complete with a testimony from a parishioner and reflective music. We hope to see many of you there!

Summer Weekly Updates

With staff vacations and fewer parish activities happening in the summer, we're simplifying the Weekly Update for the months of July and August. You may notice a more basic Weekly Update over the next few weeks but rest assured, it will contain all the necessary information about parish life, prayer intentions, and more! We'll be back to our action-packed Weekly Update at the end of August. If you have any questions about anything in the Weekly Update, contact the parish office at 604-922-1371 or office@ctrwestvan.ca.

Summer Mass Times

As we enter summer, our weekday Mass times have not changed. Mass remains at 8:15 am on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and 9:00 am on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Thank you for worshipping with us!

Beware of Email Scams

We have received reports from parishioners who have received emails addressed “from” Msgr. Smith asking for gift cards. Imposters, posing as priests and using email addresses that are similar to those of our priests, have been emailing people asking for personal donations, gift cards, and other forms of financial assistance.

The parish and pastor(s) will never ask for payment or assistance in the form of gift cards. If you’re unsure whether an email has come from the parish, please contact the parish office at 604-922-1371 to verify the sender’s email address.
