Kitchen Table Conversations (KTCs) are an opportunity for people to be heard as they answer questions about community, issues and concerns and political representation The response to the questions are recorded and collated anonymously into a report which is given to your state and federal MPs, political candidates and councillors. Examples of some questions at a Kitchen Table Conversation: What do you value most about living here in Mackellar? What are the particular issues (local or broader) that concern you? Do you feel you have an adequate voice in the way you are represented?
There are many ways to be involved: attend a library conversation, host your own at home with friends, family etc or volunteer with us as a facilitator or scribe. |

Warriewood Community Battery opened |
Committee member Maree Nutt (pictured) recently checked out the new Community Battery which was installed in Warriewood last Friday. According to this article in the Northern Beaches Advocate, the community battery is directly connected to 156 nearby homes with solar panels already installed. The battery stores the excess electricity these homes generate during the day for use later in the evening, which reduces emissions, energy bills and keeps the renewable energy local. The battery is covered in artwork by Indigenous artists, David McDonald. The first community battery on the Northern Beaches was installed at Beacon Hill in 2021. |
