April has been a busy month for the AZ Grandparent Ambassadors and Kinship Caregivers. We are working to pass our legislative bills, planning our annual Summit, and restructuring our organization from the ground up. Last week we delivered "Cookies from Grandma" to every lawmaker with a hand-written note by one of our kinship caregivers thanking them for supporting kinship.
The legislature is finished with committee hearings and is now considering bills for final passage. Please contact your legislator today to ask them to support SB 1144 (restores child-only TANF for non-DCS families with a court order) and SB 1539 (increases kinship stipend for DCS families).
