Social Impact is a phrase that all of us hear often. It is one of our Five Value Pillars at OutGrowth, and therefore drives our work and our partnerships. But what is Social Impact, and how, if we aren't already engaged with a cause, can we start to make our own daily impact? Let's break this down by the way we view it, and simultaneously broaden our definition of the phrase. At OutGrowth, Social Impact, at its core, is about combining a social need with a bias to creative action. It involves designing a culture of helpfulness at all levels, while consistently listening, learning, growing, thinking critically, and measuring the quality and extent of our influence. It means putting ethical causes, under-resourced yet important initiatives, and the well-being of communities at the forefront, so that the best decisions can be materialized. It means providing access- to opportunities, experiences, resources and education that can be the catalysts for real, lasting growth. At OutGrowth, we can't imagine a more crucial time to jump in and find your voice. The world needs us. Just take a look at the issues affecting us in the here and now: civil rights, public health, climate change. This month, we focus on some of our favorite do-gooders in the community, while also giving you our favorite resources so that you can better understand social impact at a larger scale. Here's to mapping your way forward so that you can make a difference in the lives of others, starting now. Happy reading! Grow out with us. |

We are a for-profit company with a lofty aspiration for a name. And our name is our compass - which is a good thing, because we rarely know what’s coming around the corner.

According to investment expert Audrey Choi, individuals own almost half of all global capital, giving them (us!) the power to make a difference by investing in companies that champion social values and sustainability. "We have more opportunity today than ever before to make choices," she says. "So change your perspective. Invest in the change you want to see in the world."' | | |
