Flowers in art 

Flowers have been one of the most popular art subjects. Blossoms in many types, colours and shapes have been painted by the artists  during all art movements throughout the ages. The Impressionist painters, for example, often placed floral subjects next to a human figure such as this one by Edgar Degas, ‘A Woman Seated beside a Vase of Flowers’ (1865) (Photo: Met Museum -Public Domain).
