   Sexual Assault Awareness Month
 
Every year, Family Advocates partners with local organizations to bring sexual assault awareness and prevention activities to our area. 
 
You can involved! Coordinate a company jeans day for Denim Day to show support and awareness!
 
April 2 - Sexual Assault Awareness Month day of action.  Wear teal and share why preventing sexual violence is important to you.  On Facebook and Instagram: @Family Advocates, #SAAM2024 
 
April 24 - Denim Day - Join millions of people worldwide who will wear jeans with a purpose, support survivors, and educate themselves and others about all forms of sexual violence.  Share photos of you wearing denim with Family Advocates: On Facebook and Instagram: @Family Advocates, #SAAM2024

April 15 - 11:30AM-12:30PM- We are at Southwest Technical College.  Resource table outside of Charley's in Building 400.
April 16 -11:30AM-12:30PM -Joyce Gibbs, author of Portrayed Crazy, book signing and meet and greet. Building 400 in the library.
April 17 - 11:30AM-12:30PM - Sex Ed Trivia at Charley's in Building 400
April 18 - 11:30AM-12:30PM - Mocktails and Cheese.  Open discussions on red and green flags in relationships

April 16 - 6:00PM - Take back the Night - Campus walk and candlelight vigil.  Male survivor keynote speaker in The UW-Platteville Wisconsin Room - Student Center.
April 22 - 10:00AM-2:00PM - UW-Platteville Markee Northwest Patio - Pioneer Players Sexual Assault Scenario - study scene and tabling.
April 23 - Teal flags on the Markee lawn to represent the number of students who will be assaulted during their time in college.
April 24 - 11AM-2PM - UW-Platteville Library - Stop by in your jeans to show your support. 1PM denim day picture on the library stairs.
April 25 - 10:00AM-2:00PM - UW-Platteville Ulsvik Patio - Pioneer Players Sexual Assault Scenario - bar scene.  Tips to know if your drink is spiked..

Legacy Leaf
 
Family Advocates has launched a Legacy Tree campaign and will be installing a three-dimensional stainless steel tree in the foyer of the newly constructed shelter.  Donations to this Legacy Tree will support children and victim centered programming at our new facility.  The three-dimensional tree has names engraved into the leaves to honor donors or remember loved ones.
