RCIA stands for Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults.

It is the Catholic Church’s way of welcoming people into our community.

ARE YOU SOMEONE or DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO…

·       Has Expressed an Interest in Becoming Catholic?

·       Or Was Baptized Catholic as a Child, but has Not Celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist?

·       Or Wants to Learn and Ask question about the Catholic Faith.

RCIA is a Great Learning and Loving process in which conversion of the Heart Bring one to Jesus Christ.

Through weekly meetings, those attending gain a deeper appreciation and understanding of the Catholic beliefs and practices. All are welcome and there is no obligation to make any commitment to become Catholic. Our classes will start on Wednesday, August 14th at 6:45pm.

Please Do Not Forget to Offer this Information to Others. Extending an invitation to spouses, relatives, friends, and neighbors, in a gentle way, might be just the opportunity that they are waiting for. They may be ready, but are not sure how to make an inquiry. However, if they are not ready today, you may have planted a seed that will grow and bloom into a decision sometime in the future.

If you are interested or have any questions please contact Deacon Jose Escamilla: deacon@mary-our-mother.org or 210-395-5137

We will have a meeting near the end of the summer to look at this more in detail. With a little more information we will begin a little capital campaign for Phase 1B (the portables). I have $200k pledged to this, and I think we will spend $300k. I will keep you posted.

Mass Set up Volunteering

We have to build the church each Sunday morning, and you can help! At 7:30 am we set up the speakers, sound systems, altar, clean chairs, etc. Deacon John did most of this, and will not be able to for a while. The Pastoral Council suggested that this was a good chance for more people to get involved. If you would like to commit to help once a month (or more), please click below:

Holy Communion to the Homebound

One of the more beautiful ministries of our parish is bringing Holy Communion to the sick. One of my more difficult tasks is identifying those who need Communion brought to them. If you need a bit of help, or have a neighbor who does (after talking to her or him), please sign up below:
