Happy Lost and Found Day!

Sometimes I get lost but then I remember I found all of you! Happy Lost and Found Day, Friends!

The Weekly Poll Results! 🎈

Okay folks, did you finish all those Thanksgiving leftovers? If some are still sitting in your fridge, it might be time to throw them out. That being said, I know what isn't left in your fridge because you all told me what is the best Thanksgiving leftover. The items that are still leftover appear to be green beans, apple pie (WHAT?!), and sweet potato pie. What is 100% gone? It is MAC AND CHEESE! This fan favorite was the first leftover to be revisited!

Friendly Reminders and Affirmations

  • Put the phone away for a moment. Leave it at home and go for a walk. Enjoy a moment just being alone with yourself and your thoughts.

  • It is okay if things feel slower right now. Winter is a natural time for things to slow down and for us to rest a little more. Rest is good and natural.

  • Don't forget to show yourself some self-love today and every day. You deserve it!

  • Sam (NJ) wants us to remember this beautiful quote:

    • "Your life is an occasion; rise to it." - Mr. Magorium

  • A Man of No Importance Off-Broadway: I first found this show in High School and ever since then I've been dying to see it. I didn't know why I was drawn to this show in High School but now, it is abundantly clear. I am really glad I got to see it at the cute CSC theatre!

  • Finding Me by Viola Davis: This was a fantastic book! I listened to this one but, hearing about Viola Davis' life and story was truly remarkable. She has a compelling story and I am glad I could learn more about her life and story.

Other News - My Daily Walk

I stand on the corner at the crosswalk waiting for the stop signal to turn into a walk sign. As my walk begins, I notice the slow progress the new coffee shop has made toward its grand opening. I notice that sub shop that quickly opened which then closed just as quickly. I see and feel the change. The world around me changed just as I changed. Each day there is something different. A new restaurant. Scaffolding that just went up or scaffolding that came down revealing a renovated facade. There is comfort in the change as it is consistent even if it is small.

Just like the path on my walk, I am a little different every day. I may walk the same path wearing the same shoes but, I am not the exact same person I was the day before. I may have put up my own scaffolding around myself only to take it down as I am consistently working on myself. I try on new looks and wear different feelings as time passes. Through all that, I discover something new about my identity.

What’s beautiful is I change alongside my daily walk. Because of that, the walk I do every day is a little different just like me. I will eventually stop walking this path and my daily walking route will change. The old path I used to walk will continually change even when I’m gone and have many stories that I will miss. If I come back, we will be two different beings reuniting. The change in each other will be even more apparent as the small changes become big. Some nights on the walk, I can see how the small changes made a big impact. I’m already looking forward to going on that same yet different walk tomorrow.
