It's your body and your mind

THE WAVE CHI METHOD

HOW IT WORKS

Indian club swinging is a hybrid combination of tai chi, yoga, Qi Gong, movement meditation, dance, and mind and body synchronization. It is based on the theory that movement can heal. The patterns incorporate three planes of motion: frontal, sagittal, and transverse. Every move has an opposing movement, which also makes it a brain exercise.

Even though there are many various types of exercises you can do with Indian clubs, we highly recommend trying The Wave Chi Method. Designed by our Founder and CEO Jack Gillen, the Wave Chi system is good for people of all ages and fitness levels.

It is a gentle, low-stress, low-impact system of training that is really fun. The movements are performed in a frontal plane of motion (an easy way to visualize it is to imagine that you stand between two planes of glass, one in front of you and one behind you, and that is your plane of motion) using a heart shape movement.

You can get benefits in as little as 10 minutes a day once you have learned the pattern. Of course, the more time you spend, the more proficient you get and the faster you can progress. However, if you do it 10 minutes a day for four weeks, you will not believe the difference.

THE WAVE CHI METHOD

HEART SHAPE FRONTAL PLANE EXERCISE

is one of the most effective Indian club swinging techniques. Two important things to know before attempting the exercise is that it is performed in slow motion in the frontal plane of movement. What is the frontal plane?

The frontal plane is represented by a plane that cuts the body into front and back halves, creating an imaginary track that the body follows when performing side-to-side movements. Another way to visualize frontal plane movement is to imagine two plates of glass pressed up against the front and back sides of the body, creating a channel where the body can only move left or right, not forward and backward.

In the video below, our Founder and CEO Jack Gillen demonstrates the Heart Shape exercise and explains how to do it correctly.

Performing 1500 heart shape exercises develops muscle memory needed to facilitate change, be it increased shoulder mobility and strength, improved sports performance, or better posture. There are two ways to do it in the Wave Chi system. You can do 50 exercises per day for a total of 30 days or 20 exercises per day for a total of 75 days. It will only take you from 2 to 10 minutes a day and you can track your progress by using our heart shape exercise logs which can be downloaded here: 30-day log and 75-day log. For more information on how to perform the exercises and other training instructions, please contact us.

We are working on a series of instructional videos that will show in detail how to perform the exercises and will provide thorough instructions for the users. Please subscribe below to receive notifications once the videos are available.
