JULY NEWSLETTER

It's been a quiet month here at PixiMaths what with the end of term. I'm starting at a new school under a new post in September so it's been a time of hellos and goodbyes.

There are only two new KS3/4 lessons this month: comparing distributions and mean of a subset.

I've also written a couple of blog posts; one reviewing my work on promoting independence in the classroom, and one on using bar modelling as a visual technique to support students.

As well as…

A Level Resources

Yes, you read correctly! AS teaching resources to be ready for September this year. They will cover the basic teaching points to set students up for the nitty-gritty exam qestions provided by whichever board you choose.

Website of the Month: Resourceaholic.com

I'm sure you've seen this one before, but @mathsjem's website needs a mention as I use it so often. Jo blogs regularly about current issues in maths education as well as making and collating some fantastic resources from the world wide web. I'm finding the A Level content particularly useful at the moment as I prepare for next year, in the same way I've used the new GCSE stuff lots throughout the last couple of years. Thank you, Jo, for all you do.
