Multicultural Families Organisation Inc (MFO) would like to acknowledge and thank everyone who has been involved with our amazing Global Village Store on the ground level of our offices in Southport which closed late January 2024. Thank you to every single person who came through to purchase something, donate and volunteer.

Global Village Store was more than a charity shop. It was a source of refuge, a meeting place to assist families and give a hand up during trying times, a venture that provided opportunities for our amazing volunteers to connect with customers from all walks of life especially during the very tough pandemic times. The store stocked unique brand new and almost new items, exotic global clothing and handicrafts all kindly donated with all proceeds used to support community. Needed to make a fashion statement at the next multicultural event? this store was the perfect stop.

Watch this space for the next exciting phase that MFO will be providing service for in our community.

August 2019 we opened the store, it was so beautiful just watching it all come together and the amazing donations we received from customers and friends. So special.

Big thanks to all the Volunteers, far too many to mention, special thanks to Pia for her volunteering and helping me pack the shop up.

Thanks MFO for trusting me with the shop. We had fun times.

When Numbers Matter

A snapshot of the SARA support in 2023

This February SARA Program celebrates the seventh Birthday.  As we remember our humble beginnings, we cannot thank enough the women who trusted us to support them, who shared with us the most intimate details from their lives, whom we cried and laughed with.

Women, victim-survivors of domestic, family and sexual abuse continue to be our biggest teachers. They are holding a unique power, wisdom and expertise. As Women’s Advocate we listen to them, we make sure to tell them that we believe what they  are saying. And we let them tell us what they need.

Statistic is important to show us the sheer volume of the need for support and the small part that we played in assisting women and children towards safety.

The numbers from 2023

13092 is the number of our client contacts

1846 is the number of Safety plans

1195 is the number of Risk and safety assessments

900 is the number counselling contacts

1866 is the number of Referrals to external services

More Fantastic Opportunities

I’m Vagner Nascimento and I have dedicated my career to the field of accounting. My professional journey began in Brazil, where I took on the role of a junior accountant in a small accounting firm. In 2011, I completed my bachelor’s degree in accounting.

Driven by a desire for new challenges and adventures, I relocated to Australia to further enrich my accounting career. I pursued a master’s degree in accounting and business administration at Holmes Institute in Gold Coast, solidifying my commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

Beyond realm numbers and financial statements, I am a quiet achiever who finds immense joy in the serenity of the ocean. My passion for surfing adds an extra dimension to my life, reflecting my appreciation for both professional excellence and personal fulfilment.

MFO welcomes Vagner to our Acountancy team.
