It's a regular Family Reunion!

Jam, eat and vote ~ 10am-1pm

Annual meeting and election results ~ 1-3pm

As a non-profit, all volunteer organization, we are required to elect a volunteer Board of Directors each year. We recommend all NNBA members take at least a one-year turn on the Board, as a way to keep our organization fresh and inspired. The election takes place at this Annual Meeting, though the nomination process is open now (click here for nomination form).

What qualifications do you need to be on the NNBA Board? Mostly, just bring whatever strengths you have, or skills you've learned in your professional life or in school. An appreciation of Bluegrass music is important, but you don't need to be a player. People with organizational skills, computer skills, mechanical skills, accounting skills, leadership skills, decision-making and listening skills are all welcome.

The Board makes important financial and action-oriented decisions for NNBA, organizes events and then martials the resources to put the events on. Check out the Meeting Minutes of our Board meetings to see what we do. It's actually pretty fun to be a part of something that brings music and REAL LIFE social activities to our community. The Board meets once a month, so it's not a huge time committment (except for August, when we put on the Bowers Bluegrass Festival). To nominate yourself (or someone else), you just need to fill out a brief form, located here.

NOTE FROM THE BOARD

We want to update you on a change on our Board. Sue Newberry, who has served as our Treasurer for the last couple years and done an amazing job updating our financial records and our bookeeping system has stepped down, in order to spend more time with her family. We'll still see her at jams and events, pickin' her dobro or banjo and singing her boundless repertoire of Bluegrass songs. Thank you so much, Sue, for all you've done for NNBA!

Replacing Sue in the Treasurer post is another familiar face at jam sessions and events -- Craig Bailey. Craig is a poster child for "go-getters"! He seems to always appear right when you need a helping hand. He's spent many hours on Volunteer crews, setting up and tearing down events. He's a pro at running audio for several local bands, and he's in high demand for his bass playing and singing. We are very lucky to have you join us on the Board, Craig!

Calling All Bands!

That lonesome looking stage needs YOU to play on it for the 38th Annual Bowers Bluegrass Festival in August, 2024!

We're looking for 4 local bands (within 50 miles) and 3 regional bands (100 miles or more). The specific requirements are found in the 2024 Band Submission Guidelines on our website. Download the Guidelines today! Any questions, email info@nnba.org.
