Community Cartography by Danica Liongson Here are three historic maps of Windsor Park from 1889, 1908, and 1941. See if you can spot the differences throughout the early years. What disappears and what remains? The green spaces we enjoy today—Fletcher Park and Spades Park—were set aside from development as early as 1889. Orange Avenue, Appletree Lane, and Louisa Street all go by new names these days. Other streets have entirely disappeared: Newman Street once crossed Pogue’s Run. The next time you’re on the trail see if you can find its footings, still standing. |
