Dear Friends of MASCP, In partnership with the Catholic Multicultural Center, (CMC), MASCP is showing the one-hour movie, “Wild El Salvador” at the CMC, 1862 Beld Street, on April 27, 2024. Doors open at 6:45. PM. It'll be a fun movie for all the family and a chance to buy stunning embroidered crafts from El Salvador, have some snacks (again free!), and learn more about the work of MASCP. Though only the size of New Jersey, El Salvador is home to 20 volcanoes, 23 species of hummingbirds, a cloud forest, monkeys, anteaters, and a plethora of birds with names like resplendent quetzal, chacalacas and their national bird, the turquoise-browed motmot. You’ll get to feast your eyes on many of these during the movie! We need a couple of volunteers to help set up and clean up for 20-30 minutes before and after. If you and your kids volunteer, it’ll take even less time! Let us know by registering below if you can help out. We hope to see many of you there! |

Our job will be to cut the embroidery to fit and glue it all in place….and those of you into this sort of creativity are invited to help and to take home a free finished notecard of your choice! We only have materials for 4-5 people so please register soon. It’ll be fun and super helpful!! |

Thank you for your donations to repair the retaining wall in Arcatao! |
Many of you stepped up and we are very grateful! With your generous donations, we sent $1,500 to the Community Community Council in Arcatao so they can start rebuilding the wall before the rainy season starts in June. The total cost will be in the $4,500 range so we would like to send another $1,500 soon. For those who haven’t donated to this critical project yet, here’s your opportunity to make a big difference in our sister city! Please donate today! This wall keeps water from flooding the lower level of the community restaurant and damaging the entire structure. Here’s video of the damage: |
“ Our biggest priority is to fix the wall outside of the cafeteria. It is urgent because the rain can do a lot of damage….and things could get much worse if we don’t fix it soon. This is a really big deal for us. It will be quite expensive because costs are higher right now but there is nothing we can do about it… any money you can share will be spent on construction materials” - Abél Escalante Lopez, Head of the Arcatao Community Council, on a recent call with MASCP core group members. |

Thank you for supporting our 38 year friendship with the people of Arcatao! |
