MCSS Students Advocating for SafetyApplications Open Year Round The Maryland Center for School Safety (MCSS) invites students to apply for the 2023-2024 Student Focus Group, Students Advocating for Safety (SAS). Joining SAS will empower you to play a vital role in shaping student-centered recommendations for the Advisory Board and influence the Subcabinet's decision-making process. Becoming a member will also allow you to learn more about the diversity of the current school and students' safety-related issues, develop government relations and leadership skills, and grant you first-hand exposure to the inner workings of state agencies and boards. |

David served as the MASC 2nd Vice President this past year and is the Division 3 Liaison for the current year. |

Work2BeWell (W2BW)National Student Advisory Council Congratulations to Sofia Fraga, Chopticon High School, St. Mary's County, on her appointment to the Work2BeWell National Student Advisory Council. She is the only Maryland student appointed! W2BW is a mental health and wellness program focused on providing mental health resources and education for teens, parents, and educators. Their goal is to promote teen wellness across the country and work to normalize the conversation about mental health and reduce the stigma that surrounds it. |

#ICANHELP Congratulations to these Maryland Students #ICANHELP is an international, student-led nonprofit organization focused on promoting digital safety, empowering student changemakers, and celebrating youth innovation. The organization aims to educate and empower students and educators to promote good use of technology, make a positive impact within communities, and help them to become inspirational digital citizens to prevent cyberbullying and other types of abuse. Their overarching goal is to transform future generations of students and educators based on digital awareness, digital safety, and digital wellness making a positive social impact within all communities.
