I can, I am able to

The words you use and the thoughts you think create the patterns on how you feel about yourself. It is important to listen to your head, your heart and your body. With that being said, notice how you describe yourself in situations where your body might not be aligning with your thoughts or vice versa.

I want to provide an example. I have been feeling a little extra tired and finding myself wanting to rest more often than work toward the goals I have for myself.

Instead of describing myself as lazy or saying I can’t do it. I describe myself as respecting my time to rest and saying I can do anything in the timeline that works best for me.

Your brain clings to the common thoughts and words you use. When you consistently use the following words and phrases in your vocabulary, you will continue to believe they are true:

Lazy

Unmotivated

I can’t do it

I will never be able to

I am not enough

Recognize if you are using these words and phrases in your daily vocabulary and be aware that you have the power to shift the way you talk to yourself and describe yourself to others. The more you tell yourself positive affirmations and use more positive words, the more you believe they are true. You can start practicing using words and phrases like:

I can do anything

I can always find motivation

I am able to listen to my body

There is always a way

I am enough

Start incorporating more “I Can” and “I am able to” and you will start to believe that you are capable of so much more than you ever realized.
