From MH Board Hello to my Hooker Sisters, I am so honored and privileged to serve as your secretary for 2022. I am truly enjoying being part of this wonderful organization. I was on the Island Luau committee and helped Linda Bohacek with solicitating donations from the local businesses. I was at first a little intimidated by the process but quickly found myself having a good time. Linda is a great mentor. The Island Luau was a HUGE success and I had a lot of fun in the planning stages and of course at the event. I highly encourage all new Hookers to sign up for an event. Give any time that you are able, even if it’s 3 hours shift at the event, helping with decorations, planning, posters/signs, etc. I am convinced you will enjoy the time. I am happy I volunteered to help with the event and am looking forward to the next Island Luau. My husband, Paul, and I moved to Bokeelia in September. We were both born and raised in Northern California (Wine Country). California is a beautiful state but we are so happy to be living in Paradise. Our two children live in the San Francisco Bay Area, in my husband’s childhood home which is only 1 mile from my 91-year-old mother. Our son is a Software Engineer and our daughter is in the Police Academy. We will be taking a trip back to California in May to attend her graduation. We enjoy traveling, camping and fishing. We recently purchased a Tri-toon so we are looking forward to exploring the waters around the island. I am excited to get to know all of you and working with you at the next event. Carolyn Ryzanych, Secretary |

Sad to Share On April 4th, we all lost a dedicated long time Sister Hooker Sallye McCullough. While you haven't seen her in recent years, she made a difference in our organization as a whole and was active on the Scholarship Committee and believed in supporting education. Sallye had a great smile, offered kind words and common sense when needed. Please remember her in your thoughts and prayers. DJ Madam |

Herald and website content submissions, along with questions or concerns should be sent to Karen Durand at MHwebmistress@gmail.com. Please do not email to Karen by forwarding a Herald publication.
