Combat Hero Bike Build OCTOBER NEWSLETTER

CHBB has announced the recipients for 2020

We are very pleased to announce next year's recipients. All three are very deserving recipients although they are not typical of past recipients.

Our first award will go to Jay Thoma. Jay is a United States Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. Jay lost his leg while readying the deck of the USS Coral Sea for an emergency landing of an F-4 Phantom returning from a mission. Jay will be awarded his motorcycle May 12th in Ontario, CA at the kickoff for Run for the Wall. Thunderstruck Customs will be building Jay's bike.

Our second and third awards will be presented in August at Cripple Creek, CO at the Salute to American Veterans Rally. United States Army veteran Robert "Doc" Pinkham will receive a bike, and a custom 4-wheeler will be presented to United States Marine Corps veteran Rob Jones.

Doc received a direct IED hit resulting in the loss of two men and suffers from TBI and PTSD. Mark Richardson has Doc's bike in his garage and will be starting the transformation after the first of the year.

Rob is a double above the knee amputee as a result of initiating an IED in Sangin, Afghanistan. Rob is a former motorcycle rider but has made a special request to have a 4-wheeler built for use on his ranch. We are introducing a new builder that has already started on Rob's 4-wheeler - TJ's Cycles from Delta, CO.

DONATE

(The following was received from 2019 recipient USMC Jed Morgan)

Having never driven a motorcycle before I never realized what I had missed. Now that I have been able to drive my amazing motorcycle I can feel that "wind therapy" I kept hearing people mention. It truly is therapeutic being able to hop on my bike and ride around. I have felt my stress level drop, my smile broaden and have a new desire to cruise the beautiful roads America has to offer!

We have received a motorcycle from a donor that we won't be able to use for one of our veterans. After a little work (new front tire, new brakes, carburetor kits, tuneup and a MO state inspection) we have it street ready. You can purchase this little bit loud, but great running 2001 Yamaha V-Star 1100cc for $2,500. It is currently located in the St Louis, MO area. Contact Terry Sharp at terry@combatherobikebuild.org if you are interested.

We have added some new merchandise. We are offering custom wood flags featuring one of the five military branches (Space Force not offered at this time). We are offering the flags for $120 plus shipping.
