Loving Our Darkness

October - 2nd edition

Together we journey through the dark days and nights.

October is a perfect month to contemplate our relationship to darkness and "evil".

A theme that has been arising recently with the people I interact with is pondering the question "Am I bad?"

We experience dark thoughts and wonder if this means that we are less than good.

This is normal and this question is an important one to explore within yourself.

It is challenging to see ourselves as good when our so-called good actions come from people pleasing and not from our own heart. We must take time to decide for ourselves what our ethics and morals are rather than just playing a role of what we think others will approve of.

with love from my heart - Chauntell

“During the dark night there is no choice but to surrender control, give in to unknowing, and stop and listen to whatever signals of wisdom might come along.

It’s a time of enforced retreat and perhaps unwilling withdrawal.

The dark night is more than a learning experience; it’s a profound initiation into a realm that nothing in the culture, so preoccupied with external concerns and material success, prepares you for.”

Journaling Ideas

Some questions to contemplate:

  • What does 'being good' and ''being bad' mean to you?

  • Where did you develop your understanding of good and bad?

  • Who gets to decide what is right and wrong?

  • How do you decide what you think/feel is "good" or "bad"?

  • Do you associate any animals with being bad or with the darkness?

  • In which ways can you see aspects of yourself that are like this animal?

  • What can you learn about yourself from animals that seem scary?

Exploring Your Dark Side

Updates

The fall season welcomes a busier schedule for me in meeting with people. Make sure to book your sessions in advance to secure your spot. If I haven't heard from you in a while I may check in just to see how you're doing.

There has been a price increase for session due to my rent increase:

$150 for an hour

$180 for an hour and a half

I still offer a sliding scale for anyone that needs it. Although our relationship is one where a monetary exchange is part of the relationship, you are all important humans that I care about whether we are in session together or haven't interacted for some time.

Your life and feelings matter to me. Remember you're not alone!
