What most people refuse to accept is that Karma is here to help YOU grow, prosper, and succeed... IF you deal with it correctly !
And before we examine what it all means let me start off by clarifying what creates Karma - there are a number of factors to consider, but basically “Karma teaches us how to follow the Higher Laws [Dharma]”...
Simply stated this means that you are to be a nice person, to ‘treat others as you would like to be treated’...to offer respect, even to those who are different from you... to be a kind, gentle, loving human [and humane] person... and to extend this attitude to ALL around you [including Nature and the Planet].
Yes, it’s that simple... but far too many find it easier to use and abuse others, to lie, cheat, and betray their position just so they can exert their misguided influence for personal gain... to be the bully who would rather use force and violence to lord it over others, thinking that this makes them powerful...
The list goes on and on....but you get the picture, and I will add this - the more they enjoy using and abusing others, the greater their Karma... the more they feel ‘superior / entitled / righteous’ in their position, the greater their Karma... the more they believe they deserve ‘special treatment / dispensation’, the greater their Karma...
We often define Karma as ‘the actions we take, and the consequences these create’ [and yes, we can create Good or Bad Karma... depending on our actions]
And we should also clarify that - it is the attachments to the event, and the emotions generated, that define how strong this Karma will be... with some provisos [which I’ll get to soon].
So - if I have a strong memory of the event, I am forcing it to still be active in my life today... and, depending on the emotions present, this could be either a sweet, pleasant experience, or it could trigger more anger, frustration, jealousy, fear, turmoil...within me.
You can guess what these emotions will do to the wellbeing of your body-mind.
And what is even worse is that I am now doing this to myself !!
Yes, the original event may well have been perpetrated by an abuser, but that is long past... the Karma IS what I create for myself...through my memories, and the emotions I call forth !!
So what happens when a sociopath abuses another but feels no remorse ? Are they ‘exempt from Karma ?’
NO, they are held accountable ... because they are considered to be ‘evolved’ [yes, they are distorted abusers who lack moral and ethical values...but they are still ‘educated’, thus they do create Karma].
The idea of having no emotional reactions to a past event is found in a very primitive - animalistic - consciousness... and, because they don’t know any better, then they create a much lesser Karma [still some, but not as much]
Karma is the system through which we grow and evolve...
it is the Teacher that shows us Right from Wrong...
and WE are that Teacher
It is up to each of us to make the right choices... and either speed up our evolution...or not.
Oh, there’s one more piece [take a deep breath now ...] -
We have said that it is because of ‘education’ that people are held Karmically accountable... and it is Spiritual Education which holds us most accountable ... and so while your mates can get away with a slap on the wrist, y’all who have chosen this Path are now held to a much, much higher standard !
Why ? Because of the rewards, of course [once we get it right]... but that is for our next discussion.
We all walk this Path together as Brothers and Sisters... you are not alone, we all support each other... Namaste ...
