Thank you for being willing to take the Reston Biophilic Pledge! Your commitment will help protect and maintain our community's natural resources for the enjoyment of all who chose to live, work, and play in Reston now and in the future.

By pledging via this form, you will enable us to track how many people are taking the pledge and also help us gauge whether more educational information about some pledge elements is needed.

1. Enjoying time in nature frequently

2. Adding at least one plant native to Virginia to my property or volunteering for a tree planting or invasive plant removal project in Reston

3. Participating in one or more nature-related programs or events at the Walker Nature Center

4. Helping pollinators by planting nectar-rich flowers/shrubs or putting up a hummingbird feeder/bee house

5. Promoting biodiversity by supporting and creating wildlife-friendly habitat

6. Documenting my nature observations in a journal or an app

7. Never littering

8. Minimizing the use of pesticides and fertilizers

9. Reducing my use of single-use plastics

10. Turning off my outdoor lights at night

11. Not using gas-powered engines (leafblowers, lawnmowers)

12. Composting my food waste

13. Keeping my cat indoors and/or walking my dog on a leash and cleaning up after it
