YCL's Fifth Annual York County Reads runs February through March! This exciting program connects readers of all ages throughout York County, promoting literacy and community engagement as they read our featured books at the same time for this year's theme, "What's Cooking in York County?" So, let's all get inspired as we encourage others around us to sign up and read together! |

Just use our Beanstack website or the Beanstack Tracker App to create or sign into your account, record participation, and earn digital badges for completing activities. You'll get a prize for signing up — a stackable colored pencil, gel pen, measuring spoon, or kitchen cutlery set (while supplies last). Complete the challenge to be entered into a Grand Prize Drawing for a gift basket from each YCL location! We'll also have fun "Take-and-Make" activities to pick up throughout the program and special events, including cooking demonstrations, storytimes, and more! Black History Month Movies: Bring your lunch, if you’d like, and enjoy these Black History movies. Light refreshments provided. Children 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult. No registration is required. The Woman King: Saturday, Feb. 10, 1–4 p.m., Main Library, Rock Hill Respect: Saturday, Feb. 17, 1–4 p.m., Main Library, Rock Hill
Harriet Tubman Solo Performance and Workshop: Learn Harriet Tubman's story from enslaved girl to woman warrior of freedom, as shared by Mama Lo (author and storyteller Carlo Dawson). Participants will engage in "secret agent" training, learn code songs, and read code maps in quilts. Carlo will also have her children's books for sale. Ages 8-12. Registration is required. Saturday, Feb. 17, 10:30 a.m.–12 p.m., Main Library, Rock Hill Romare Bearden and the Art of Collage: Join us for a lesson on Romare Bearden’s life and work, including his impact on Charlotte, NC. The lesson will be followed by a collage project to explore your creativity with paper, just as Bearden did. All materials provided. Ages 18+. Registration is required. Friday, Feb. 23, 3–4:30 p.m., Main Library, Rock Hill. History and Preservation of African-American Cemeteries: Explore the history behind some early York County African-American cemeteries, many neglected and abandoned and in dire need of preservation. A panel of historians and preservationists will discuss their work in locating and caring for these final resting places of enslaved people and later African-Americans from our communities. Ages 18+. Registration is required. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 5–6:30 p.m., Main Library, Rock Hill.

Find Resources for Tax Forms and Preparation |

YCL will once again offer limited Federal tax forms to the public, although currently we only have Forms 1040, 1040-SR, and instructions for tax year 2023. We encourage you to visit the IRS website to view, download, print, and order your Federal tax products online. No paper state income tax forms will be available. Visit our Tax Resources page or view YCL's Tax Help Flyer for an overview of tax resources and more, including where to find free local tax preparation assistance.
