Skillfully United: Alumni and Friends Strengthening the Connection

Make a Difference: Volunteer Opportunities Await:

SkillsUSA California aims to support more than 7,000 statewide members during the Regional Leadership and Skills Conference (RLSC). These students will participate in 118 diverse contests, including prepared speeches, job interviews, industry-specific presentations, and technology or trade-specific roles such as construction or medical assisting. The success of these events will rely on the dedication of over 100 volunteers. You can play a crucial part in shaping the future skilled workforce by signing up for a role today and assisting these students on their journey to the state conference.

These events will be run on Zoom, so there is no travel required. We have five dates to choose from, and you can serve for an hour or the whole day.

Alumni supported the Annual Leadership Academy in Newport Beach

As the sun was setting on an August evening over the picturesque shores of Newport Beach, Calif., the third annual SkillsUSA California Leadership Academy was just beginning. Seventeen students from 16 schools began a transformative three-day retreat designed to inspire young minds to ignite their leadership potential. The immersive experience seeks to cultivate leadership; foster growth; and instill the values of trust, stability, compassion and hope, qualities recognized by Gallup Inc. as the four most important qualities an effective leader should demonstrate and share. SkillsUSA’s “The Four Pillars” leadership guide shows student leaders how to incorporate those qualities into their own chapters. READ MORE
