November 2022

Monthly Update

October was filled with some exciting opportunities and events. We continue to thank God for the doors He is opening and how He is moving!

On October 10th, I traveled to the beautiful state of Colorado to spend some time in the Dare 2 Share office for strategic planning meetings. The goal was to to strategize and maximize ways to recruit, equip, and mobilize Gospel Advancing Leaders, so that everyone everywhere can hear the Gospel from a friend. I am so thankful to closely partner with such a Spirit-led, Gospel-focused ministry like Dare 2 Share. Like every visit, it was so good to spend time with close friends and co-laborers for THE Cause.

On October 16th - 19th, I preached revival services at Pleasant Home Baptist Church in Glencoe, KY. I am thankful for my friend, Ben Wilson, who serves as the pastor there and has such a heart to equip and mobilize his people to share the Good News. My preaching focused mainly on evangelism and advancing the Kingdom of God through the power of prayer, the Holy Spirit, and the Gospel of Jesus. It also involved an evangelism training session for believers to be equipped to share the hope of Christ clearly and confidently.

On October 20th - 23rd, I began another revival in the Northern KY area, at Dry Ridge Baptist Church. I had the privilege of meeting and working with Pastor Jeff Sargent. He has a strong resolve and vision to reach Grant County, so it was great to meet one on one with him for some gospel advancing training and coaching. Much like the previous revival. this one also focused on "real revival" which involves believers sharing the Gospel in their spheres of influence and beyond. As always, I shared some training and resources to better equip Christians to share their faith fearlessly and fluently, and I love when it I receive stories like this:

Meet Gracie (left) and her friend, Cameron (right). Gracie attends Dry Ridge Baptist and both of these teens are students at Grant County High School. Gracie approached me one night before a service, asking for some resources and ideas for sharing Christ with her friends and leading them in a Bible study. Less than two weeks later, she shared with me the awesome news that she led her friend, Cameron, to faith in Jesus Christ! Praise God, that's what it's all about!! We celebrate Gracie's compassion and commitment to reaching her friends with the message of Jesus. I ask that you join me in praying for Gracie and Cameron, and pray for Pastor Jeff and Dry Ridge Baptist Church as they begin searching for a youth pastor. We pray that they find a Gospel Advancing Leader who will faithfully lead students like Gracie and Cameron to make and multiply disciples for Jesus!

I recently started coaching a campus ministry at Rockcastle County High School (my kid's school), called First Priority. It is my favorite campus ministry because it is outreach oriented, student-led, and local church focused. My children, Evan and Shailynn, both serve as student leaders of the club along with several of their peers. We recently launched our first club meeting on October 27 and had over 25 in attendance, which is great for the first week! The club meets every Thursday morning, and your prayers for these students and the classmates they are trying to reach are appreciated!

It has been such a joy to watch Evan and Shailynn grow in their faith as they reach out to their friends with the Gospel and serve the Lord with the gifts He's given them. Evan continues to serve local churches and ministries by leading worship on a regular basis. We are now getting opportunities to work together, and it is special to tag team with my son. Recently, someone asked Shailynn, "What do you want to do when you get older?" Her response was, "I want to work with my daddy and travel the world." I am blessed!!

I am so excited to announce the launch of something we have been praying about and planning for a while. As many of you already know, I was a youth pastor for thirteen years and then God called me to serve as a lead pastor for a little over four years. During that time, I was able to implement the gospel advancing values we see in book of Acts throughout the entire church. As a result, we saw God do AMAZING things! For a while now, I have been reaching out to several former Gospel Advancing youth leaders who are now senior pastors. I have sensed God's call to create for them a community of like-minded leaders to connect with for prayer, encouragement, and Kingdom collaboration. On November 1st, we had our first Zoom call (see above). There were seven pastors representing five states (Kentucky, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, and California). Our aim is accountability, alignment, and ongoing training when it comes to advancing the Gospel through youth ministry, the church, and leader networks committed to reaching their communities. Please pray for this effort!

Please be praying for this month's events:
