BEATLES DAY RECAP

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25 

Thank you to all those who made it to the Beatles Day - Concert in the Park on Sep. 25/ It was a Good Day Sunshine! The British Invasion was a huge success as the music reverberated through the Niles Plaza and beyond pulling the old and the young towards its magical sounds. Live music, kids playing in the park bubbles everywhere, so much energy that you could lose yourself and even  memories of 2020 to it. What else could one ask for!!

Craving for putting some balls? You may be a pro Golfer like Kramer from Seinfeld, but you certainly don't have to enter the Golf course from the caddy's entrance like he did because we have laid out the entire golf course of nine holes for you right in the neck of your woods, in the Niles neighborhood. 

 

Gather your family and friends, kids and pets, and stroll around the neighborhood on Oct. 10 showing off your hole-in-one skills. You will start at hole # 1, progress through the rest of the 7 holes and end at the "Watering Hole" at Joe's Corner. 

 

There will be prizes for  Best Score, Best Hole Design (for the hole sponsors), and Best Dressed Golfer

 

Tickets can also be purchased on the day of the event outside Joe's Corner. This event is sponsored by NMSA in partnership with Niles Elementary PTA

HAUNTED TRAIN

OCT. 29 - OCT. 31 ||  7-9 PM || Train Car across from Joe's Corner

Something is haunting one of the Niles’ Town Plaza train cars! Come and see what the ghosts are up to this Halloween during the evenings of October 29th through the 31st. The spookiness commences at 7 PM and will conclude around 9 on each night.

 

There will be treats for the kids (until we run out), as well as a chance to win a gift basket full of Halloween goodies. Costumes are encouraged! Hope to see you there!

CHALK ART IN THE PARK

OCTOBER 2, || 10AM-3PM || Niles Town Plaza

Pet & family-friendly fundraiser organized by Ohlone Humane Society. Make a donation to OHS and receive your own sidewalk chalk & goodie bag. Join local artists and create your own work of art! Who knows you might even wake up your inner Banksy!

HALLOWEEN PET COSTUME CONTEST

OCTOBER 31, || 2PM - 5PM || Joe's Corner, Niles

Has your pet been begging you to take them for Halloween shopping? Maybe because they heard the news that Joe's Corner is holding a Pet Costume Contest on Oct. 31. Didn't you know that animals can sniff the news before we humans can!

 

So listen to your pet and get them ready to walk the black carpet. There will be prizes for Best Original Pet Costume and if you are feeling over-zealous then go ahead and match/coordinate your costume with them for a chance to win the Best Pet and Human Costume prize.

 

All kinds of "safe-to-public and well-trained" pets permitted.

Diamond in the Rust, a local business in Niles has been part of the community for 7 years. They are bookending their business with a second location on the other side of Niles Blvd (at the location of former Suda Mae Antiques). The new location will be a Maker's Market where local Makers can have a place to sell their goods.

 

They are busy getting their new location ready and should be opening up for public in a month or so.
