Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible

― Tony Robbins

A New Year is great for a fresh start and January 2021 is one that I've been particularly looking forward to. I have a feeling I'm not the only one. A New Year gives us an opportunity to reflect on what went well (and not so well) the previous year and set goals and resolutions for the future.

So I've been pretty into goal-setting for my business and personal life this month. I have quite a lot of energy so motivating myself to move isn't difficult, but sitting still and reflecting, or emptying my mind, without a book or TV series to entertain me is really hard. I am attempting to start a daily meditation practice, but I'm not doing very well. My favorite type of meditation I've found is a 5 minute bedtime meditation to help me sleep. That one I love.

What are some of your goals for the year? And also, what are some of the things that you want from me? I want to make these emails as useful and informative as possible, so if there's something you'd like to see in them, please let me know.

Inspiration: Explainer videos for Rocky Mountain Elder Law

Elder Law is a complex field so my client wanted to break down some of her service areas in short explainer videos. We developed six videos: an introduction video and a video for each of the areas she works in. I think they're pretty great so you should check out her YouTube channel with them all on.

New social platform: Clubhouse

There's a new social network in town - but it's still in Beta mode and not open to everyone. Clubhouse is an audio-based social media app. You have rooms which you can drop into and join the conversation. It's a bit like Whatsapp for voices. I signed up a couple of months ago and was just accepted. I'm not yet convinced that it's going to be for everyone but if what you're selling is your expertise, it could be a useful venue for you.

About me

If you've been on a video call with me then this will be a familiar sight. It took me almost two years of being in this office to decide how I wanted this wall. Typically for me, I wanted all these pictures but also room to put up more. So I went with the shelves so that I can keep updating how the wall looks. This selection includes some of my favorite memories from the UK; a teapot I haggled for in a Shaghai market; a picture made for me by my mother;  a friend's wedding where I was a bridesmaid; and an anniversary present from my husband.

See you next time.
