Happy Birthday SEDSConnective! 🎈

SEDSConnective celebrated its demi-decade anniversary this month on Monday 26 June. We are the first neurodivergent community (identified as those with Autism, ADHD, Dyspraxia/DCD and Tourette’s syndrome) and symptomatic hypermobiltiy (EDS HSD JH) charity.

We also launched our first ever LIVE Birthday Chat on our Facebook group for members which was a huge success and continued for over 24hours! Thanks to our new volunteer Judith for running this for us.

⚠️ Research Involvement - Universities Project

We have been asked to help share this project:-

The Autism in Universities Project: Investigating the Academic Learning Experiences of Autistic and Non-Autistic Students.

The aim of the project is to investigate the academic learning experiences of autistic and non-autistic university students.

As a charity and voluntary charity we rely entirely on the generosity of funders and donations to continue what we do.

The fundraising environment is extremely challenged currently, and funds are very hard to come by, but we know we are making a difference in health, education, social care and more.

At SEDSConnective all money that we raise goes directly to our members, and helps us to run our charity.

We are delighted and extremely grateful to Kelly, our trustee and volunteer who recently raised £15 for us by selling her handmade jewellery.

Conferences and Events 🎟️

Our Conferences so far this year have been on a wide variety of subjects, which have been an honour to attend and present at.

Jane Green attended and spoke on Children & Young people with SEND - the mental physical interplay, digital SEND and physical trauma, Safeguarding Children and Young People at the SEND Provision Conference in London on 21st June.

Also recently presenting with one of our members on Fabricated Induced Illness with the Minister for Children, Clare Coutinho.

⭐Don’t forget, our Chair Jane Green MBE is a keynote speaker at The Global Learning Conference with TheEDSociety in Dublin in August; "Connecting the Dots" plus attending all week as their expert adviser.

Next week our Patron Dr Jessica Eccles will be speaking at Le Pub Scientifique on pain.
