THE WEEKLY WORD

SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK:

Lamentations 3:21 - NLT

"Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this:"

Last week we shared a list of things God did in the year 2021 with Made to Marvel. We encourage you to do the same for your own life because we find it to be helpful especially with this week's scripture to start the new year. Let's look at the next couple of verses because we can still dare to hope when we remember this...

Lamentations 3:22-25 - NLT

The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease.

Great is his faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning.

I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in Him!”

The Lord is good to those who depend on Him, to those who search for Him.

YET I STILL DARE TO HOPE

Hope is such a powerful and dangerous weapon against the enemy. If our hope in Jesus is crushed or destroyed then what are we living for? It's a downward slope so never give up hope! The enemy wants to destroy our relationship with Jesus with lies and deceptions. God sent His Son to pay our debt by sacrificing Himself and that is more than enough yet He showers us with even more love and blessings.

  • Faithful love
  • Mercies that never cease
  • Great faithfulness
  • New mercies each morning
  • Himself as our inheritance
  • Good to those that depend on Him and to those who search for Him

That's quite a list of love and blessings from just 3 verses out of the total of 31,102 in the Bible. There's so many more if you search for Him in it.

WHEN I REMEMBER THIS:

We serve an awesome, powerful and mighty God that gets into our personal details. Our individual histories with Him are fuel for the fire. They are endurance to keep running and finish the race. They are the joy amidst the trials. None of us have the exact same relationship with Jesus. Just like parents don't have the same exact relationship with all of their children and vice-versa, neither do we with our Heavenly Father. It's a wonderful and beautiful thing!

When you look back on the list of all the things God did in 2021 alone, you will find that each of the above verses ring true and close to home. Keep the list with you, on your phone, written on note cards in the car or purse or backpack or written in a journal beside your bed. Keep it close because as you consult that list your desire to know Jesus more, to serve Him more, and to love Him deeper and passionately will grow and burn like a fire that can't be extinguished.

LATEST MONDAY MARVEL:

For the first Marvel of 2022, Travis brings us "Spare No Arrows". Do we really want to get to the end of our life with a full quiver? What does that even mean?

Jeremiah 50:14 - NIV:

“Take up your positions around Babylon, all you who draw the bow. Shoot at her! Spare no arrows, for she has sinned against the Lord."

Happy New Year!

THURSDAY BLOG REVIEW:

In this week’s blog, Amanda reflects on adoration. Adoration is a choice, one that we must make regardless of the consequence, popularity, or difficulty. All aspects of Jesus are adorable, not just nativity Jesus but offensive Jesus, disruptive Jesus, uncompromising Jesus. We serve a King with fire in His eyes and must have some of our own to give Him the adoration that He deserves!

Through the blog, we share wisdom learned through Bible study, life experience, and our own mishaps.  It will bless you and encourage you!

New posts every Thursday morning.
