The Hidalgo County Wellness Program recently launched a YouTube Channel! The wellness team is excited about this new project that will raise awareness and continue to promote a culture of prevention and wellness. Along with its launch, the program premiered a series, exclusively on YouTube, called "The Wellness Exchange". | | |

The series will cover different health topics every week. The wellness team will speak to different medical professionals from different fields on topics ranging from mental health to COVID-19 long-term effects to fitness and nutrition. A new episode will be released every Wednesday at 11 a.m. Make sure to head on over to the Hidalgo County Wellness Program YouTube Channel and subscribe. |

Health Talk: Immunization Awareness |

The Wellness Program hosted its Health Talk: Immunization Awareness event virtually in mid-June. Dr. Audrey Gutierrez returned to discuss why immunizations are important and the stigma and myths surrounding them. Challenges in life can happen unexpectedly. So it is good to know that Hidalgo County employees have access to Deer Oaks EAP Services that provide for you and your dependents, and household members. |
|
|
The county's employee assistance program covers short-term counseling sessions for its employees. Deer Oaks puts you in contact with licensed counselors to address personal concerns, such as stress, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, and addiction. Other services include legal and financial consultation, identity theft assistance, work-life services, child and elderly care referrals, and, for once a year per participant, transportation reimbursement for ride fares.
