8 Exciting Achievements from this Year

Now that 2019 is coming to end, here are some of the goals we've achieved...

1. We purchased our first permanent plot of land and began construction of our new facility.
2. We survived extreme hardship from ongoing political unrest and fuel shortages in Haiti.
3. We recycled over 16,500 pounds of plastic and aluminum.
4. Kay Blada was featured on Haiti's national news program and numerous radio channels.
5. 25 Haitian school teachers sat down to design a comprehensive environmental education program for the 2019-2020 school year.
6. Kay Blada's plastic was used in a new HP laptop.
7. Kay Blada continued collecting plastic from several local hospitals in a new pilot program.
8. 28 new t-shirts made of recycled plastic were distributed to Kay Blada's plastic collectors, their main request from a recent meeting in order to increase respect in the community.

Progress on the New Site in Haiti

Blada (our founder and executive director) is currently in Haiti on his last work trip of the year. One of the priorities for his trip is to organize the inside of the new facility and build the shelter for the workers to protect from rain and sun.

Kay Blada Recycling is also hosting a gathering for all of our neighbors and local businesses to come celebrate the new recycling center and learn more about our program.
