Mayagüez, Puerto Rico — The Cultivar Learning Network (CLN) is pleased to announce the launch of its 5th Virtual Internship Program for the Fall 2023. Running from October to December 2023, this grant-funded program, supported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is an online, paid internship totaling 44 hours. The internship is open to all bilingual Spanish and English speaking students - from college freshmen to seniors, studying agriculture and relevant fields such as civil engineering, biology, and animal science - and is also open to recent graduates.
This unique, part-time internship provides opportunities to gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience. The program curriculum is comprised of 5 modules focusing on various, crucial aspects of agriculture and conservation. These include Natural Resources Conservation, Introduction to Leadership, Young Future Conservation Professionals, and Data and Entrepreneurship. This year, we are introducing a bonus mini-module on Climate-Smart Agriculture to provide interns with an in-depth understanding of environmentally sustainable farming practices. With the guidance of expert coaches, the internship culminates with a conservation project on a farm in the interns’ community, giving participants the opportunity to apply their learning in a real-world context.
Prospective interns have until July 7, 2023, to apply. To apply, visit https://fm.mano-y-ola.com/fmi/webd/Mano_y_Ola and click on ‘New Internship Application.’ For additional information, please visit our website: https://www.latinofarmersusa.com/cln-internships.
