NGPC 29 PALMS II

NOV 28-29

The penultimate round of NGPC in 29 palms round 8. It was the first time we have been to this venue with cooler, brisk temperatures and low wind. The track crews added new additions to the existing lay out which had been there for decades. The riders loved the changes, especially for the pros with the new pro section added in for Sundays race.

A typical weekend started out great with all of our riders racing in the Saturday AA race. Something new for Tyler Lynn; we have been using these races to let him race next years 450 to get some needed race time under his belt with the pro guys. With only a few rounds left and not much time for pre season testing, this was our best option. Justin Seeds also raced vet pro instead of the AA race and won the race against guys like, Mark Tilley, Robby Bell, and others.

We also want to give a big shout out to Sharon Mowell for winning the women's pro West Coast Hare Scramble championship. Though it was only a 2 round series due to current times and delays, she stayed consistent bringing home the win. We want to thank all of our sponsor for supporting not only us, but her as well in allowing her to perform as best as she can, without you guys it wouldn't be possible.

TYLER LYNN

5TH

PRO 250

Tyler was running 4th in class until he over shot a jump and rolled his bars back and broke a fork guard causing his hole shot device to lock his forks out. He came in after a few laps and had to get some work done to correct it. It put him down quite a bit, but he came back with a hard charge to finish in 5th. We are grateful he finished healthy and ready to lock up his Pro 2 Lites championship this weekend in Lake Havasu for WORCS.

In his words: "Got off to a third place start and settled in behind the leaders. I battled up front for the first few laps and was feeling awesome where we had some unforeseen bike problems. I pulled into pits the next time around and we got everything fixed and was back out on the race course. Knowing I was behind by a few minutes I put on a hard charge for the next hour and to try to catch back up. Unfortunately we ran out of time and coming into the finish 5th after some good battles. Things happen and happy to make it to the finish. Thank you to all the amazing people and sponsors that keep our team running up front!!"

JUSTIN SEEDS

6TH

PRO

Justin coming off of the vet pro win in Saturdays race, he also set the fastest lap and overall time for the day out of the pros. During Sunday's pro race he got off to a mid pack start, unfortunately he had over four crashes and one really bad crash in the pro section resulting in a lot of lost time. He stayed strong to finish the race and is healthy to go into Lake Havasu WORCS this weekend.

In his words: "Vet pro I got off to a sweet holeshot and was able to build a comfortable lead on the first lap and then was able to ride and have a good time on my way to the win. The Pro race start wasn’t to hot after catching a rut and putting me sideways and having to lift. A few more corners after the start I ended up running out of room in a corner and going over the berm. I got up and starting pushing making passes and moving up to 7th. After a couple guy had problems I found my self in 5th. I ended up have a pretty good get off but stayed in 5th, but was pushing to get a gap again over 6th and then I ended up tagging a rock in the pro section which sent me for a ride that I would like to forget about. After all that happed I ended up walking away and finishing in 6th."

THOMAS DUNN

6TH

PRO 250

Thomas was running in a solid position most of the race around the top 5 and had a battle to the finish with Tyler for the 5th spot. He fought hard and earned some valuable seat time for next years season. Thomas would succumb to Tyler and take 6th by the end of the last few laps. We are proud of his effort and look forward to his season in 2021.

In his words: "I got off to an okay start but got pushed wide in the first turn. I was around 10th made some passes to 6th and was behind Colton Aeck for the first half of the race. After the pit I lost sight of him and it was hard to keep the same intensity. So he started to pull away from me. Had a good little battle with Tyler Lynn on the second to last lap and learned a lot when I was behind him Going to work on those things and give it everything I have for the last rounds in Havasu. Thanks to the whole Purvines team and everyone that supports us, I really appreciate it!"

CAITLYN KURTZ

1ST

WOMEN'S EXPERT

Caitlyn is impressive to say the least. She found herself working her way up into the pro women's class taking overall positions away from them. Her ability to find speed on the GP tracks is more than impressive after just one year under her belt. Look for her in the future women's pro class to be a threat.

In her words: "Round 8 of NGPC at 29 Palms was a fun weekend of racing. Saturday’s race in the Women’s Expert class went amazing. I had a great start and was able to hold the lead for the entire race. Sunday’s race in the women’s 4stroke Open class didn’t go quite as planned while crashing twice on the first lap; however, I was able to hang it out and make up some time and finish second."

SHARON MOWELL

4TH

WOMEN'S PRO

Sharon is just coming off of her West Hare Scramble women's pro championship win. She is still struggling to learn the GP style, but is putting the effort in the right places to get better. We are happy to see her working hard and coming off of a championship win for Purvines Racing!
