Your first year of marriage is often considered your year of adjustments. It may seem like it was just yesterday when you said your “I dos” but believe us, a whole year has passed! That’s probably why you’re looking for ideas on how to celebrate your 1st anniversary. You’ve probably also read a lot about the predictable paper themed anniversary gift and decided “Nope, this isn’t for me”. We agree too. You deserve better! And that’s why we’ve come up with what we think is a great idea to celebrate your 1st wedding anniversary. What is it you say? Read on to find out.
THE IDEA
What better way is there to celebrate your anniversary than with an anniversary shoot?
LET'S START WITH SOME PROPS
For this idea, we’re picturing the wife dressing up in a long flowy white casual dress while the husband wears suit pants, a dress top, and maybe a tie that is not done up. Another good idea is bringing along some cute flowers for this shoot. Maybe about 5 daisies tied up with a string made of straw. You can also bring along the frozen top layer of your wedding cake if you preserved it, and we can photograph you guys feeding it to each other. With no impending stress of wedding planning like before, this shoot is sure to be fun, relaxed, and amazing!
WHY A PHOTOSHOOT?
Because this will be such a great memory and you will have some pretty awesome photos to cherish forever. It is always our wish for our couples that their love continues to grow stronger and stronger with each passing day. What better way to chronicle that, than to document your progress now, after 1 year?
MORE PROPS
When coming along with the frozen top layer of your wedding cake that you’d preserved, how about also coming along with a cake topper that says “365 days of love”? It’ll make a great prop to show that you are celebrating one year of being married. Forest and field settings will also make the perfect backdrop for these pictures.
IN CLOSING
Happy 1 year of togetherness. We wish you many more happy returns. We also know you’re aware that like true love, photos last a lifetime. It’s the reason why you guys hired us to capture your weddings and engagements in the first place. We believe that professional portraits should not stop after you say I do. And don’t even limit yourselves to just one anniversary photoshoot. Document your love year after year. Take pictures as your family becomes bigger, with kids and pets. It will always cheer you up to look back and see how far you’ve come.
Much love from us.
