Some things you should know
(and what you can do to help)

I'm pretty sure you can all guess where this is going, but I have to say it anyway.

Sew Swansea is shutting its doors.

As we all know there is a lot going on at the moment with all the coronavirus panic and self-isolation and illness and it is vital that we all do what we can to limit the spread of this virus where and however we can.
With that in mind, I have decided that until further notice (at least until week beginning 6th April)  I will not be taking any in-person classes.
As I am sure you can appreciate, this was not an easy choice, I am a very small business and this is how I not only run my studio but also my home and support my children, not working runs the very real risk of me not surviving financially, but I have to put the health of my family and my students before everything else right now.

So what does this mean?

Well, it means that as from today (16th March 2020), no scheduled classes or one-to-one sessions will be going ahead - they are however merely postponed for a later date rather than cancelled. You will get your lesson, just not on the date you originally thought, but I will work with you to find a suitable alternative

If you have booked anything from 6th April onwards these classes will, at this point, still be happening. If this changes you will be notified and again these classes will be rearranged - no one will be left without their workshop.

I will close bookings on my website so as not to take any new students during this time

I am working on alternatives such as online classes, tutorial videos, live video sessions, kits and pdfs so that you can continue to learn with me and I can try and keep my business going.
I am working on putting all of these things together as quickly as I can so I appreciate your patience while I work on it.
Additionally, it would be of great help if you let me know the sort of online classes you might like me to provide.

What happen's next?

For the time being, I shall be putting all my time and efforts into creating an online school.

I have also set up a Patreon account that allows lovely people like you to pay a small monthly amount to support me and my work in exchange for exclusives and benefits.

I will contact everyone booked onto classes over the next two weeks about moving their workshop to a new date.

Any one-to-one lessons will be taken via sykpe or something similar - I shall let you all know what, once I've set it up.

How can you help?

Mostly by just continuing to be your awesome supportive selves.

By being patient and understanding while I try to switch over to online teaching

If you have a class booked for April or May, it'd be extremely helpful if you'd wait for me to see how things pan out over the next couple of weeks before contacting me, to give me a chance to set up alternatives for everyone and work with you to ensure that everyone still gets their lesson.

You can support me by signing up to my Patreon account.
Once it's up and running (it's currently being verified by Patreon staff) you'll be able to find me at
www.patreon.com/sewswansea

Or joining my online classes. These online classes will be run via Teachable.com, once I am set up there I will send out details of how to access these classes.

It would mean so much if you could support me on either, or both of these platforms, if you're able to.

Many thanks

Tasha
