Mere paas Maa hai
(Translation - My mom is with me)
Growing up, rasam never appealed to my palette even though my mom's version was dynamite. But, as an adult, I appreciate it and try to include it in my diet as I understand how beneficial it can be. Rasam is a soup and has a base of black pepper, cumin, coriander leaves and turmeric - herbs and spices that improve digestion and enhance immunity.
The addition of jaggery in this recipe
makes it my favorite.
